Is Subsurface virtual or in person?
Subsurface 2024 will take place virtually on both May 2 and 3. In addition, we will be hosting attendees in New York on May 2 for live, in-person sessions and a special evening reception. Please note you must apply to attend in-person if you are not a current Dremio customer or considering Dremio for your company. Your in-person registration will be confirmed within 48 hours of applying.
How do I apply to attend in person in New York?
If you are not a current or prospective Dremio customer, you can apply to attend. Customers and prospective customers are automatically accepted to attend in-person. We will confirm your in-person request via email within 48-hours of receiving your application. Your admission ticket is valid for only May 2 at the in-person location. May 3 will be hosted completely virtually.

Who should attend?
Subsurface is a technical data lakehouse conference tailored for data architects and data engineers like you: the data teams on the frontlines building next-generation data lakehouses. Is Subsurface pre-recorded or live?
Subsurface will be streaming LIVE. We believe that live events are more interesting and engaging.
Can I watch the Subsurface LIVE recordings?
Most Subsurface Keynotes and all breakout sessions will be recorded and made available to watch on-demand. All Subsurface registrants will be able to access recordings in the event portal the same day.
Will there be Q&A?
Yes. You’ll get live audio Q&A at the end of each session.
How does it work, do I get a link to join?
You’ll receive an email with login instructions after you register and again the day before the event. The email will include your personalized link which will automatically log you into the virtual event platform. From there, you can set up your profile and familiarize yourself with the platform. On the morning of the conference, we’ll email you again to remind you that it’s about to start. Our event platform is browser-based, and easy to join and use. No additional software downloads are required.

Is there an exhibitor hall?
Yes. There will be both a virtual and in-person exhibitor hall. For virtual attendees, you’ll be able to virtually visit exhibitor booths. If you are joining us in-person, you will be able to meet with exhibitors personally. This is a great opportunity to learn about the latest industry innovations, participate in live demos, and ask questions.
What about SWAG and PRIZES?
Of course! The first 500 attendees who register AND attend the event (virtually or in-person) will receive the official Subsurface shirt. Also, stay vigilant for additional promotions as we lead-up to the event. We will also have exciting prizes that will be raffled off throughout the event. These giveaways are only available to attendees in North America and Europe.
