Keynote with Tomer Shiran, Founder and CPO of Dremio
During the Subsurface LIVE Winter 2022 conference, Dremio Founder, Tomer Shiran, shares the benefits of open lakehouse architecture versus typical cloud data warehouse. Tomer announces the general availability of Dremio Cloud, the world’s first free, fully managed data lakehouse platform, and the addition of two new services: Dremio Sonar, a lakehouse query engine, and Dremio Arctic, a intelligent metastore for Apache Iceberg that provides a unique Git-like experience for the lakehouse.
Dremio Product Director, Jason Hughes, walks through a real-world use case of a retailer needing to update multiple tables with new data. While a common use case, the current process has risks and issues that are tolerated as a cost of doing business, such as exposing data quality issues to end users. These risks and issues can now be mitigated with Dremio Cloud’s Sonar and Arctic. Jason conducts a live demo using this use case to achieve data objectives, while easily preventing any risks and potential issues.
Dremio Cloud is a frictionless, infinitely scalable platform that helps organizations run all their SQL workloads and automate data management operations. We designed it to be the lakehouse platform that data teams love – it’s built for SQL, provides a Git-like experience, and is open and forever free.
